What makes an offshore charter different

A sport-fishing charter is a different experience from a day cruise. You'll spend the first hour running south from Puerto Banús toward the offshore banks and seamounts where the pelagic species concentrate. The skipper and mate will rig the trolling lines as you transit, and by the time you reach the fishing grounds the boat is set up and working.

Offshore fishing in the Strait of Gibraltar area is genuinely world-class. The convergence of Atlantic and Mediterranean currents creates upwellings that concentrate baitfish and attract the predators above them — bluefin tuna, mahi-mahi, white marlin, and occasionally sailfish make appearances in the Marbella grounds every summer season.

Every Bandido charter includes both a captain and a mate — the minimum crew for a properly run sport-fishing operation. What to target by season

June–October: Bluefin tuna (the primary target — some years producing fish over 200 kg), mahi-mahi from July onward, white marlin in August and September, wahoo in the warmest months.

April–May and November: Bluefin tuna in transit, excellent bottom fishing on sea bream, snapper, and grouper.

Year-round: Bottom fishing over the rocky grounds and wrecks between Marbella and Benalmádena produces snapper, bream, and grouper consistently.
