Málaga sits 40 nautical miles east of Marbella along the Costa del Sol — a 1h15 cruise on our 12.5 m motor yachts, or a 35-minute drive by road. Boat rental in Málaga works two ways through us: direct charters with Málaga-based yachts berthed at Muelle Uno, or repositioning our Marbella fleet (Astondoa 40, Azimut 39, Mangusta 80, Lagoon 380) to Málaga for the day. Where charters depart from in Málaga
Muelle Uno (officially Marina del Puerto de Málaga) is the main charter departure. Built on the old fishing dock and pedestrianised in 2013, it runs along the south side of the harbour from the Pompidou Centre west to the lighthouse. Practical bits:
- 5-minute walk from Calle Larios (Old Town) and Atarazanas market.
- Public car park underneath the marina (€2.50/hr, 24/7 access).
- Taxi rank at the marina gate; Cabify and Uber work in central Málaga.
- Train station (Málaga María Zambrano) 1.5 km — €4 in a taxi, 18 minutes on foot.
- Charter desks open from 9am; check-in for a 10am charter is 9:45.
Some larger yachts dock at Muelle 2 (the commercial / superyacht slips) — your booking confirmation will tell you which slip.

If you want the Mangusta 80 (only 24 m sport yacht in Marbella's charter fleet) or the Lagoon 380 catamaran, repositioning makes sense — there's no equivalent yacht based in Málaga. For a generic 10–12 m motor yacht charter, the Málaga-direct fleet is cheaper and faster.
Three day-charter routes from Málaga port
East: Málaga → Nerja (Maro caves)
Best full-day route. 25 NM each way along the Axarquía coast. Pass Rincón de la Victoria, Vélez-Málaga, then the dramatic Maro cliffs and the Cueva del Tesoro caves. Swim stop at Cala del Cañuelo. Lunch at anchor off Nerja or stop at Marinas de Nerja. 6.5 hours afloat, back at Málaga by 5pm.
West: Málaga → Marbella (Puerto Banús)
40 NM each way, full day. Pass Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Calahonda. Lunch in Puerto Banús — moor at the visitor dock, walk to Sinatra Bar or Astral Beach Club. Return mid-afternoon. Best for groups who want the 'see the Costa del Sol' day rather than a swim-heavy itinerary.
Bay loop (4 hours)
Half-day charter. Out to the Málaga lighthouse, west along Torremolinos coast, anchor at La Carihuela for a swim, return via the Pompidou Centre seafront. Comfortable for groups with children or non-sailors who don't want a long day on the water.

- Snacks: chips, olives, charcuterie board.

- Despacho de salida (sailing permit) filed with Málaga port authority.
Optional add-ons: catered lunch (€35–€55/pp), jet ski tow (€280 for 4h), paddle boards (€40/board/day), professional photographer (€450 half-day).

Weather: skipper decision is final. If we cancel for weather, you get full refund or a free reschedule. If you cancel for weather inside 7 days, normal cancellation policy applies.

Can I take the boat without a skipper?
Bareboat charter from Málaga is possible on smaller boats (license-free 5 m / 15 hp) and on yachts up to 12 m if you hold PER + sailing endorsement. For our 12 m+ motor yachts we provide the skipper. Booking confirms based on licence verification.
