You typed "jet ski rental Orlando" into Google. We get it. Orlando has theme parks, lakes and a lot of humidity. But here at BoatHire24, we don't rent jet skis in Florida. We rent boats on the Costa del Sol. That's Marbella, Puerto Banús, Estepona and the rest of the Spanish sunshine coast. If you are looking for a day on the water with a licensed skipper, a cold drink and a view of La Concha mountain, you are in the right place. We can't help you with a Sea-Doo in Lake Tohopekaliga. We can put you on a 40-foot motor yacht in the Mediterranean. Think about it.
Why You Ended Up Here and What to Do About It
You searched for jet ski rental Orlando because you want to get on the water. Fast, fun, a bit of adrenaline. That makes sense. But maybe you are also planning a trip to Spain, or you live in Europe and want a different kind of water experience. Orlando is great for roller coasters and alligators. The Costa del Sol is great for gin and tonics on a catamaran, swimming in coves like Cala del Faro, and watching dolphins near the Strait of Gibraltar. We don't have jet skis in our fleet. We have motor yachts, sailing yachts, catamarans, RIBs, fishing boats and licence-free day boats. Every single one comes with a skipper. You don't need a licence. You just show up, sit back and enjoy.
Boat Hire 24: What We Actually Offer
BoatHire24 is a marketplace for boat and yacht charters on the Costa del Sol. We connect you with local owners and professional skippers. Our boats depart from Puerto Banús, Marbella Marina (Puerto Deportivo), Cabopino, Estepona, Sotogrande and Benalmádena. You can hire a boat for a half day (4 hours), a full day (8 hours), a sunset cruise or a multi-day trip. Prices start from around EUR 400 for a small motor boat and go up to EUR 15,000 for a superyacht. Every charter includes fuel, a skipper, insurance and basic safety equipment. You can bring your own food and drink, or order a catering package. The skipper will handle navigation, docking and safety. You handle the sunbathing, swimming and Instagram stories.
Boat Types You Can Rent Instead of a Jet Ski
Jet skis are one-person thrill rides. Boats are group experiences. Here is what you can book through BoatHire24:
Motor yachts. From 25 to 60 feet. Speeds up to 30 knots. Perfect for cruising along the coast, stopping for a swim and eating lunch on deck. Brands like Sunseeker, Azimut and Princess are common. Prices from around EUR 800 for half a day.
Catamarans. Stable, spacious, great for families or groups of friends. Two hulls mean less rolling. You can walk around without holding on. Most catamarans have a trampoline net at the front where you can lie down and watch the water pass under you. Prices from around EUR 1,200 for half a day.
Sailing yachts. If you want the quiet experience, wind in the sails, no engine noise. Sailing yachts are slower but more romantic. Popular for sunset charters. Prices from around EUR 600 for half a day.
RIBs and speedboats. The closest thing to a jet ski. Rigid inflatable boats with powerful outboard engines. 6 to 10 metres long. You can go fast, jump wakes and explore hidden coves. Prices from around EUR 400 for half a day.
Fishing boats. Equipped with rods, bait and a fishfinder. The skipper knows the best spots. You might catch sea bass, bream or even tuna. Prices from around EUR 500 for half a day.
Licence-free day boats. Small motor boats (up to 6 metres) that you can drive yourself without a licence. The skipper gives you a quick briefing and then you are on your own. Max speed around 8 knots. These are the budget option. Prices from around EUR 250 for half a day.
Superyachts. Over 24 metres. Crew of 3-6. Jacuzzis, jet skis (yes, sometimes they come with a jet ski as a tender), SUPs, full bar. Prices on request, but expect EUR 5,000 and up per day.
Departure Ports and Local Highlights
We cover six ports. Each has its own character.
Puerto Banús. The glitzy one. Supercars, designer shops, mega-yachts. You depart from the heart of the Marbella luxury scene. Nearby: the Río Verde area, the beach of San Pedro Alcántara. Good for people-watching before you leave the dock.
Marbella Marina (Puerto Deportivo). More relaxed than Banús. Plenty of restaurants and bars. The old town of Marbella is a 10-minute walk away. Good for a pre-charter tapas lunch.
Cabopino. Small, quiet, next to the Artola sand dunes. The port has a few chiringuitos (beach bars). The marina is less crowded. Good for a peaceful departure.
Estepona. A fishing port with a charming old town full of flower pots. The marina is modern. You can sail west towards the Strait of Gibraltar or east towards Marbella. The water is usually calmer here than in the eastern ports.
Sotogrande. Upscale residential area, famous for the Valderrama golf course. The marina is exclusive. Good for a day trip to Gibraltar or Tarifa.
Benalmádena. East of Marbella, closer to Málaga airport. The marina has a large promenade, a casino and the Selwo Marina dolphinarium. Good if you are staying in Torremolinos or Fuengirola.
Local highlights along the coast: the mountain of La Concha (1,215 metres, visible from almost everywhere), the coves of Cala del Faro and Cala del Moral, the Nerja caves (about an hour east by road, but you can also approach by boat), the Strait of Gibraltar where you can see dolphins, whales and the African coast.
Pricing Guidance (No Invented Numbers)
We don't list exact prices for specific boats because every owner sets their own rate. But here is a realistic range based on what we see on the platform:
Half day (4 hours): from around EUR 400 for a RIB or licence-free boat. From around EUR 800 for a motor yacht up to 35 feet. From around EUR 1,200 for a catamaran. From around EUR 600 for a sailing yacht.
Full day (8 hours): roughly double the half-day rate. Some owners offer a discount for full-day bookings. Expect EUR 700 to EUR 2,500 for most boats. Superyachts are price on request.
Sunset cruise (2-3 hours): from around EUR 300 for a small boat. From around EUR 600 for a yacht with drinks and snacks included.
Extras: food catering (EUR 20-50 per person), drinks package (EUR 15-30 per person), paddleboard or kayak rental (EUR 50-100 extra), fuel surcharge (rare, but some owners charge extra if you go far).
All prices include VAT (21% in Spain). Tips are not included but are appreciated.
Seasons and Weather
The Costa del Sol has a Mediterranean climate. Summer (June to September) is hot, 30-35 degrees C, water temperature 22-26 degrees C. This is high season. Book at least 2 weeks in advance. Spring (April to May) and autumn (October to November) are milder, 20-28 degrees C, water 18-22 degrees C. Fewer crowds, better availability. Winter (December to March) is quiet. Some boats are in dry dock. Weather can be windy, especially the Levante wind from the east. But on a calm day, winter charters can be magical. You can see the snow on the Sierra Nevada mountains while you sit on a boat in 18-degree sunshine.
The wind matters. The Poniente (west wind) is warm and calm. The Levante (east wind) can be strong and choppy. Skippers know the local conditions and will advise you if a day is not suitable. We never send you out in dangerous weather.
How to Book Through BoatHire24
Go to our BoatHire24 homepage. Use the search filters to pick your port, date, number of guests and boat type. You will see a list of available boats with photos, descriptions, prices and skipper profiles. Click on one that interests you. You can send a direct message to the owner asking about availability, special requests or dietary requirements. Once you agree on the details, you pay a deposit (usually 30-50%) through our secure payment system. The balance is paid on the day of the charter, in cash or by card, to the skipper. We hold the deposit until after the charter to protect both parties. Cancellation policy varies by owner, but most offer a full refund if you cancel more than 7 days before the charter.
If you are not sure what to choose, use the search page to browse all options without filters. You can also read our blog for tips on what to bring, which ports are best for families, and how to avoid seasickness.
Who This Is For (and Who It Isn't)
This is for you if you are a group of 4 to 12 people looking for a private day on the water. Families, couples, stag or hen groups (within reason), corporate events, birthday celebrations. You want a skipper so you don't have to worry about navigation, anchoring or safety. You want to swim in clear water, eat good food, drink cold beer or cava, and see the coast from a different angle.
This is not for you if you want to drive a jet ski at 50 mph. We don't have jet skis. If you want a high-speed solo experience, you might be better off renting a jet ski in Marbella (there are operators in Puerto Banús that do jet ski tours). But if you want to relax with friends, eat lunch on deck and anchor in a quiet cove, a boat charter is a better choice anyway. Jet skis are loud, bumpy and you can't have a conversation on one. A boat is a floating lounge.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I rent a boat without a licence? Yes. All our charters include a licensed skipper. You don't need any qualifications. The skipper handles everything. If you want to drive a small boat yourself, we have licence-free day boats (up to 6 metres, limited speed).
What happens if the weather is bad? The skipper decides if it is safe to go out. If the charter is cancelled due to weather, you get a full refund. We do not sail in storms or high wind warnings.
How many people can fit on a boat? It depends on the boat. A 30-foot motor yacht usually takes 8-10 guests. A catamaran can take 12-16. A RIB takes 6-8. Check the listing for the maximum capacity. Life jackets are provided for everyone.
Can I bring my own food and drink? Yes. Most boats have a fridge, a cooler and a table. You can bring your own or order catering through the owner. Some boats have a barbecue grill on the back.
Is there a toilet on board? Yes, on all boats over 25 feet. Smaller RIBs and licence-free boats may not have a toilet. Check the listing details or ask the owner.
Can I swim in the sea? Yes. The skipper will anchor in a calm spot, usually a cove or near a beach. The water is clean and clear. Bring a towel and sunscreen.
Do you offer sunset cruises? Yes. Many owners offer 2-3 hour sunset charters. You leave in the late afternoon, watch the sun go down over the water, and return after dark. Very popular with couples.
How a Costa del Sol Boat Charter Compares to a Jet Ski Rental in Orlando
You might be weighing up options. A jet ski rental in Orlando costs around USD 80 to 150 per hour for a single machine. You get 30 to 60 minutes of riding time, then your arms ache and you head back to the dock. On the Costa del Sol, a half-day boat charter for 8 people costs from around EUR 400. That works out at about EUR 50 per person for four hours. You get a skipper, a toilet, a shaded area, a cooler and the ability to stop for a swim. The water here is the Mediterranean, not a lake in central Florida. You can see the African coast on a clear day. The marine life includes dolphins, sea turtles and sometimes whales near the Strait of Gibraltar. The weather is reliable from April to October. The scenery includes the Sierra Blanca mountains, the Marbella skyline and the golden sand beaches of Cabopino. It is a different kind of water experience, but for a group, it is better value and more comfortable than a jet ski.
What to Bring on Your Charter (Practical Tips)
You need sunscreen with high SPF, preferably reef-safe because the Mediterranean ecosystem is fragile. A hat, sunglasses and a light long-sleeve shirt for midday sun. Swimwear, a towel and a dry bag for your phone and wallet. Flip-flops or deck shoes with non-marking soles. If you get seasick easily, take a motion sickness tablet an hour before departure. The skipper will have basic first aid and life jackets for everyone. You can bring a Bluetooth speaker, but keep the volume low so other boats and wildlife are not disturbed. Food and drink are your responsibility unless you order catering. Most boats have a fridge and a gas stove or barbecue. Ice is usually provided. Cash for the balance payment and tips. The skipper will appreciate a 10-15% tip if you had a good day.
Best Ports for Different Group Types
If you are a group of friends in your 20s or 30s looking for a party vibe, depart from Puerto Banús. The marina is lively, the boats are flashy and you can hit the beach clubs after the charter. If you are a family with young children, choose Cabopino or Estepona. The water is calmer, the marinas are less crowded and there are shallow sandy beaches nearby where kids can swim safely. If you are a couple on a romantic getaway, Marbella Marina gives you easy access to the old town and quiet anchorages like Cala del Faro. If you are a corporate group or a golf trip staying in Sotogrande, depart from there. It is close to Gibraltar and Tarifa, and the marina is exclusive and well-maintained. If you are staying in Málaga or Torremolinos, Benalmádena is the most convenient port. It is 15 minutes from the airport and has plenty of parking and restaurants.
