Puerto Banús Named Spain's Second-Best Marina for 2026

Puerto Banús has been ranked the second-best marina in Spain for 2026 by the nautical platform Velvua, placing behind only the Real Club Náutico de Palma in a table covering leading marinas on the Spanish mainland and in the Balearics.

Velvua assessed marinas on capacity and maximum vessel length, quality of services, connectivity and historical prestige, and pricing transparency. The platform described Puerto Banús as one of the most internationally recognisable marina brands on the Costa del Sol, pointing to its combination of nautical facilities with dining, tourism and entertainment.

The numbers behind the ranking

• 915 berths
• Vessels accommodated up to 50 metres in length
• Reported growth in demand for boats over 30 metres

That last point is the one to watch. Demand shifting toward the 30-metre-plus bracket is a berth-allocation problem as much as a commercial opportunity: every large yacht that takes a berth displaces more than one mid-size boat, and Puerto Banús has a fixed footprint.

Two rankings, two different questions

Read alongside the Observatorio de Marinas y Puertos capacity table published a day earlier — in which Puerto Banús sits behind Puerto Sotogrande among Andalusian marinas — the Velvua result is a useful corrective.

Counting berths tells you how big a marina is. Judging services, connectivity and transparency tells you what it is like to use. Puerto Banús does not win on size, and does not need to: its advantage is that a charter guest can arrive from Málaga airport in under an hour, walk to the boat, and find somewhere to eat afterwards.

What it means for charter guests

Price transparency appearing in the criteria is worth noting, because opacity has long been the Costa del Sol's weak point — quoted charter rates that exclude fuel, or a skipper fee that surfaces at the pontoon.
